EPISODE 122: Behind the scenes of my business makeover

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain and giving you a real, behind-the-scenes look at what’s been happening in my business and why things are about to look and feel very different around here.

After taking a much-needed break, I had some honest conversations with myself about what’s working, what’s not, and where I really want to take things next. So today, I’m sharing the full story behind my upcoming rebrand including a brand new podcast name and why this next season feels so aligned with where I’m headed (and how I want to serve you).

I’ll walk you through the shifts I’m making across my brand, my offers, my website, and my content strategy, all with one goal in mind: to help you create more freedom, more ease, and more passive income in your online business.

Hello and welcome to the Digitally She Does It Show. This is episode 122 and in today's episode I'm going to be taking you behind the scenes of my own business and talking about my upcoming rebrand. So let's jump right in and let's get started. Welcome to the Digitally She Does It Show.

I am your host, Karen and I really appreciate you hitting that play button to listen to today's episode. So I've been away for the past couple of weeks because my family and I, we took some time out and headed off to Turkey. So. So for those avid listeners of mine, you'll have noticed that the past couple of weeks I haven't released any episodes.

I just needed a break. I got to a point this year has been crazy, it's been busy and I just needed some time off. So I wanted to just press pause for a couple of weeks and I just wanted to take some time and have this amazing time away with my family, which obviously we've done. And now I'm back and it's back to reality. So this episode is a little different and a lot more personal because today I'm going to take you behind the scenes of what's going on in my own business right now and I'm going to be sharing with you what you can expect over the next few weeks because I've got some really exciting changes that are going to be happening back in I think it was maybe mid year last year, maybe sort of August, September. I made the decision that I was going to rebrand my business because I've been feeling for a while that I've been making this shift and it's just felt as though everything that I have, my business name, my website, this podcast, it's just felt just a little bit out of alignment. And so what I wanted to do is have a sort of fresh start, have a rebrand, and kind of take my business in the direction that I want it to go. Because I've made some really great shifts in the offers that I've created, the content that I've been creating, and some of the conversations that I've been having as well.

Karen Davies [00:03:18]:
And when I talk about my rebrand, I'm not just talking about shiny new visuals. It is about that alignment and that growth and owning my own transformation. Because whilst I am jumping behind this mic every week, in the background, the things that people don't see is all the development work, all the progression, all the things that I'm working on in order to move my own business forward. So today I just wanted to talk about the next season of my own business, which I hope will create motivation and inspiration for you so that you know as well that you are not alone on this journey. So I just want to rewind a little because two years ago, on the 1st of July, 2023, I launched this podcast. And at that time I decided on my name because I thought that this podcast would be charting my own journey. I'd be sharing things that I do in my own business and it would almost be like not a diary, but something quite similar where I would be bringing you on my journey, on the journey as well. And I think over time, what's happened is that I've wanted to talk about some really key topics and I want to share those actionable strategies and those tips because I believe that they make a difference in our business.

Karen Davies [00:04:55]:
And so whilst obviously I do talk about my own journey to a certain extent, because I try and provide context, this podcast is not about me, it's about you and what you are wanting to create. And I am incredibly passionate about helping people to stop trading their time for money. I always was. Even two years ago, when I started the podcast, that's what my mission was. It was to really talk about online courses and how powerful that they are so it can help people to move out of that. That hamster wheel of. Of just constantly trading their time which leads people to burnout. I mean, I've been recently speaking to one of my business friends, a really close friend, and that's exactly what she's suffering with at the moment, is burnout.

Karen Davies [00:05:53]:
Because she's so trapped in her business, she doesn't have any offers that she can really sell without her being there at the helm, having to be a part of that process. So she' really struggling because there's a lot of life going on at the moment and she's having to deal with personal stuff, but she can't stop working in her business because then she stops earning. And so it's really important for me to share my message, which is all about switching business models and creating that sustainable business that's going to help you to grow and scale so you can get that freedom back so that you don't find yourself trapped and you can actually enjoy your life a alongside your business. Because I don't believe it has to be one or the other. I think our businesses are vehicles for growth and freedom, but we need to set the vehicle up in the right way. And when we start businesses and we provide services and we find ourselves trapped because the demands of the clients and having to be there constantly to deliver that work, it can be very suffocating. And especially if you're having to deal with personal issues where you need to take time out, you have to think about how are you going to keep those lights on in your business. So that's why I wanted to really start this podcast, was to kind of share ways in which you can go about creating a more sustainable business model.

Karen Davies [00:07:27]:
And that's exactly what I believe I've done. So I've supported many aspiring course creators and coaches and service providers and entrepreneurs to kind of make that shift. But in doing so, I've shifted and my messaging has become more succinct, it's become more refined. And as I keep refining my process, I realized that my own brand wasn't fully reflecting the depth of or clarity of what I. What I am now teaching. It started to sort of feel a bit outdated. You know that feeling when you've outgrown your favorite pair of jeans, they still fit technically, but they're just not you anymore. And that's how I've been feeling of late in my business.

Karen Davies [00:08:18]:
So I knew it was time to evolve, not just visually, but strategically, because I want everything from my messaging to my podcast to my own customer journey to reflect the real work that I am now doing and the transformation that I help people to achieve. So with that, I want to just talk about the things that for me are going to be changing. There's going to be quite a few things, actually. So first and foremost, I am going to be rebranding this podcast. It's going to get a glow up. I'm not sure if that's the right term, but it, but it sounds. It sounds a good term to use. So very soon you're going to see a brand new name pop into your feed, which is going to go from digitally she does it to online business uncovered.

Karen Davies [00:09:16]:
And it's going to be talking about how to turn your expertise into digital products, passive income and time freedom. Now, I know that's a bit longer than the old name, but, but I'm doing it intentionally because that is exactly what it is I'm here to help people do. Uncover what it is you already know, turn it into something that people can buy and build an online business that gives you more time, more freedom and space in your life. So this new name is about clarity, confidence and owning the value that you ultimately bring to the table. So I'm really excited about that because I've got a new look, a new style. There's going to be a few changes with the intro, the outro. It's going to have a real new, fresh feel. And I really hope that you stay listening to this podcast because I just, my listeners mean absolutely everything and it's the reason why I do jump behind this mic every week.

Karen Davies [00:10:27]:
The second thing that I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be rebranding my business. So alongside the podcast, I will also be changing the visuals and the messaging across my website as well, as well as my social media channels and my emails. I'm going all in. If you're going to do one thing, you might as well do it all. So rather than doing a half hearted, I've made this decision. It's time for a whole new look right across the sphere. So expect a fresh new look, but also a clearer journey through my offers as well. So whether you're getting started with one of my freebies or maybe you are looking to create passive income in your business.

Number three. The next change that I'll, I'll. I've made in my business is I've revamped my content strategy. So I've been mapping out new content themes that go deeper into four of my key areas, which is product planning and validation, passive income strategy, digital marketing and sales funnels and mindset and motivation for online entrepreneurs. So you'll still get the same practical, down to earth tips, but in a way that's structured and easier to follow. So whether you see me online, you're watching a video, you're listening to this podcast, or you're simply receiving my newsletters, there will be something for everyone which is all about building your online business. And then number four, the other thing that I have been working hard on is streamlining my funnels and new resources as well. So behind the scenes, I've been rebuilding my customer journey.

Because my rebrand is all about making things easier and clearer so that you know what to focus on right now, what the next step is that you need to take, and most importantly, how to turn your skills, your story and your experience into offers that actually sell without burning yourself out. And more than that, I want you to feel seen and supported as well, because I get a lot of feedback, which means I get a lot of insight into how people are feeling. So my business is about supporting you every step of your journey so that you can feel supported. Because the online space is super noisy and it can be really overwhelming. I've recently had to strip back my own training and the things that I follow, the people I listen to. In fact, I recently made the decision not to go to an event in Newcastle because it was one thing too many when I was on holiday in Turkey. Had to really sort of think about what was getting in my way. And what I realized was that I have so much noise coming in all the time.

Karen Davies [00:17:07]:
I'm constantly learning about the online space. I'm learning about how to be a really good membership host. I'm learning about how to do better with this podcast. I'm learning how to structure my business in a way that reflects the growth so that I can grow and scale with success. Like, there is so much learning all the time and it kind of gets to a point where it becomes overwhelming and those sort of resources, those trainings just turn into more noise. So it's really important that we streamline and we cut out the stuff that we don't need so that we can just focus on what matters. And what matters for me is this podcast and my. My.
