So welcome back to today's episode. And to mark the special occasion of reaching a 100 episodes, which was 3 episodes ago, I have launched the scaling up series. In this series, I'm talking about ways that you can create passive income into in your business so that you can make 2025 a year that is going to work for you and your business. We want to be looking at ways that we can create reoccurring income, but it doesn't require us to give everything all of the time. It's the way you're going to build a sustainable business that's gonna be around for a long time. And, also, it's going to give you that freedom back and give you that joy back so that you can actually create a business that you love. And over the 5 episodes, I am walking you through various ways in which you can actually create passive income. And today, I'm going to be talking about automated webinars.

Karen Davies [00:03:26]:
So if you have been curious about how automated webinars work or maybe you just want to learn how to leverage them in your business then that's what I'm gonna cover in today's episode. Automated webinars provide a really great opportunity for you to reach a larger audience, but also to scale your income as well without needing to be present every time you deliver the webinar. So it's about scaling your business in a way that is gonna give you that time back, but you're using this powerful tool to do it. Now when I talk about scaling your business, and I I've spoken about this over the past few episodes, Scaling your business is all about finding ways to increase revenue without increasing your workload. Automated webinars are the perfect solution to doing this because they allow you to offer value to your audience at scale while you're saving your time and energy. So you're literally building it once and then it's being watched over and over again, but you do not need to be there in order to deliver that training. Now with automated webinars, you can create high value prerecorded presentation that essentially runs on autopilot. And you can deliver your content to potential customers literally 247.

Karen Davies [00:04:55]:
There is no time limit on it, which means that you can not only reach a global audience, so you can teach people in other countries, but you can also generate income whilst you sleep every single time. So automated webinars allow you to share your expertise and sell your products on repeat without the need for you to be there constantly being involved in the delivery of that training. Now the key to creating a successful automated webinar is by focusing on the value. Creating something that is offering high quality content that's going to engage and teach your audience. Now remember, people are always going to be signing up because they want a solution to a problem. So like with a digital product or an online course or a membership or an affiliate product for example, a webinar is no different. A webinar needs to provide a solution to a small problem and it needs to be delivered in a clear and well structured way because people are time poor. There's not a lot of time that people have available.

Karen Davies [00:06:19]:
So if they sign up to something that you are running, you need to make sure that the thing that you're promising is going to be delivered, but also that it's going to shift your attendee in some way. Now that might be by teaching them something. It could by be by shifting their perspective around an idea of something, or it could be literally giving them some kind of pathway that's gonna lead them to a direct result. So your webinar has to provide value. Now the key to making automated webinars work for you is, as I said, by focusing on high quality engaging content. So think about why somebody would want to watch a webinar and I want you to ask yourself these three questions. Firstly, what problem does my audience need help with? So always start at that point. And how can you provide a solution? How do you currently help people? What do you do to support them? And how could this be turned in to a simple webinar? How can you structure your webinar so that whatever you're delivering is easy to follow, it's engaging, and it delivers real value? So that's question number 2.

Karen Davies [00:07:50]:
And then question number 3 is how can you drive people to take action and purchase a product or service at the end of the webinar? So what do you need to do through that webinar to basically present an offer at the end that your audience are going to buy? Because that's the thing with automated webinars. You have the potential to sell at the end. That's why webinars in general are very powerful tools. It's a lot of digital entrepreneurs use webinars as a way to sell their offers because they are front loading their webinar with a huge amount of value. And then through the journey of that webinar presentation, they're shifting mindset around whatever problem they're talking about through to a solution and then they're going that one step further by providing an offer that is the solution that that person can then purchase. So it's supporting that person to an extent where, yes, the person creating the webinar is is going to make money from that, but the person that is actually experiencing that that problem that is looking for a solution and then is being provided with a solution, it becomes a no brain offer. As long as it's priced right and it's positioned in the right way and the messaging is on point, then more often than not, it becomes an obvious next step. And I think that's the thing that really helps webinars to work because you are helping the attendees to resolve something, and then you're giving them the solution at the end.

Karen Davies [00:09:48]:
So it becomes a bit of a win win because you've got the attendee walking away with a solution, but, of course, the person that has created the webinar, you know, has made a sale and is therefore able to help their audience by selling the thing that they've created in order to resolve that challenge. So webinars can be really powerful. Now a successful webinar delivers valuable content and positions your offer as the perfect solution to your audience's problem. So it becomes a bit of a no brainer when we talk about creating automated webinars because what that means is that you're just doing it on repeat. You're you're creating something once. You're you're selling it on repeat, and then you're able to support your audience whilst making income as well. And just as a side note, I mentioned at the very beginning that you can charge for the webinar. But what many entrepreneurs do do is they don't charge for the webinar, but it's the offer that they actually make money from within the webinar as well.

Karen Davies [00:11:02]:
So so I'm not saying you you don't have to charge for the webinar. If you wanted to do this and charge for it, then you can. There's no hard and fast rules. We have to make decisions based on what is right for us and what our financial goals are. And if charging for your webinar makes sense to you, then you've got to charge for your webinar. But you can also offer the webinar free and then sell your offer at the end and make money that way. So there is those the 2 the 2 options available. So I have a webinar that I deliver on a regular basis.

Karen Davies [00:11:39]:
It's called how to create your first online course. I don't charge for this webinar. I want people to come on to my webinar so that they can understand all the bits that is involved in creating an online course. So for me it's about educating them but giving them that clarity as well. Now at the end of the webinar, I open the doors to my membership which is all about creating an online course. It's my membership isn't expensive. It's very affordable. And so what I often do is through the webinar, I will offer an incentive for them to join by having a time limited offer.

Karen Davies [00:12:24]:
So my membership at full price is £45 a month, but I often offer it for about £30 in if they attend the webinar. It's because I'm wanting to incentivize my attendees to take action. Now this strategy works really well for me because I have been able to convert many people into my membership by by doing this. Now I haven't automated my webinar only because I really enjoy delivering it live. However, I have other webinars that I have created that I can automate and and I may very well do next year because I've got a lot of content sitting in those webinars that people will wanna get a hold of because it's valuable content. But it's a really great way to be able to open up an offer and lead people into that. So webinars are extremely powerful as a conversion tool into something that you're going to be offering. And the best webinars always focus on providing value.

Karen Davies [00:13:37]:
They build trust and they give your audience a reason to act. At the end of my webinars, I always ask my attendees to complete a feedback form. And I get some amazing feedback off the back of my webinar because I give a lot, and I literally lift the lid on what is involved in creating online course. So even if I don't convert somebody, at least I've given them the clarity that they need to take the next step. So think about what you can deliver in a webinar that is going to support your audience so that they can take the next step either with you or at least get started. Because by getting started, what they may realize is they need you to help them move forward. Okay. So let's talk about how to create a webinar that converts to sales.

Karen Davies [00:14:32]:
So to scale with webinars, you need to create content that essentially educates, engages, and persuades. And there is there are 4 key ingredients that you need in order to make this a success. Now the first ingredient is that you need to solve a specific problem. So you need to focus on one core problem your audience is struggling with and how your offer can solve it. So you need to really understand where they're at and what their challenges are and then think about what it is that you deliver that's going to give them that solution. The second ingredient is about telling a compelling story. This is where you share your hero story. The reason why you do what you do.

Karen Davies [00:15:25]:
This is your purpose, your vision, and why you are that person that they need to buy from. What this does, it creates an emotional connection and it also demonstrates the transformation that your product or service delivers. And you do this by creating a story around it. The third ingredient is you providing actionable steps. And this is where you leave your audience with a clear actionable plan that essentially demonstrates your expertise and the value of what you have to offer but it also gives them clarity as to the next step that they need to take as well. And then the 4th ingredient is the call to action. So you need to always end your webinar with a strong, clear call to action that invites your attendees to take the next step. So whether that's booking a consult consultation with you or maybe it's purchasing your online course, maybe it's signing up to your membership, or maybe it's just buying a product that you have to offer, you need to make that really clear to them so that you get the the you get the response that you're looking for.

Karen Davies [00:16:45]:
So whether this is through email sequences or social media or paid ads, your goal is to make sure that your audience sees the value of what you're offering and that they take action. So even if they don't purchase through the webinar, you need to have something in place afterwards that still leads them to that place where they can then take action. One of the best things about creating automated webinars is their ability to generate income passively. So once you've set up your webinar and you've automated the process, you can then keep bringing in that income without you having to be involved every single time. And how you would then go about promoting it is through things like email marketing campaigns, leveraging social media so that people can click on a link and it takes them to a sign up page. And if you're feeling confident and you're ready for it, then you can also use paid ads as well. And this this essentially will increase your visibility and drive more traffic to your webinars. I know where I'm at in my business, this is something that I'm going to be looking at next year.

Karen Davies [00:18:01]:
I as I said, I deliver live webinars. This is something that I've been doing for probably about 2, 3 years, and I really enjoy delivering them. But what I also recognize is that it does take time and it can be automated. And so I've seen this happen. I've seen people make money passively by delivering automated webinars. So this is definitely an avenue that you can go down if you have some kind of training that can be automated. So it really is worth thinking about this approach because automated webinars will allow you to generate income passively whilst sharing your expertise and products with a larger audience. So if you are looking to scale your business next year and you're looking at ways in which you can increase your revenue, make more money, but also have your time back, then this is definitely an option to be considered.

Karen Davies [00:19:01]:
So once you have created your webinar then you want to be thinking about automation because it's automation that is essentially going to allow you to scale your offer. Now there are a few things that you need to think about when it comes to automation, and the key one is, the email side of it. Creating email sequences that support what it is you're doing. So you want to have emails that are set up in place that nurture your leads and drives them towards your webinar or your offer. Now this can be really simple. If you are currently promoting a freebie or a lead magnet, then you can use that in order to drive people to your webinar. So once they have downloaded it, they can be subscribed to an email sequence, and that email sequence will then drive them towards the webinar that you've created and the offer. And then what you would do is you would have an email sequence afterwards that reminds them of the offer that you're offering within the webinar.

Karen Davies [00:20:16]:
So the email sequence that sort of sits behind the webinar actually is really vital because that's where you're going to nurture people to take action. And then what you also wanna be thinking about when it comes to, automating is creating an evergreen webinar. And what I mean by that is you want to create content in your webinar that runs continuously because this is what's going to allow new leads to experience your webinar at any time. So what you don't wanna be doing is making it time sensitive. You want to create something that can run any day, any week, any month and it's still relevant. And then, of course, you can use social media to automate that process of gathering leads. So you can schedule posts and ads that promote your webinar. That's going to help you to bring in that traffic and then convert them to leads that obviously then sign up for your webinar as well.

Karen Davies [00:21:22]:
But automation is a key aspect of this because it allows you to scale without sacrificing your time, and that's really what we wanna be thinking about. Now when it comes to your webinars this is where you really do need to track your metrics because you need to see what is working and what's not. And there are going to be some important metrics that you're going to need to track. So you need to be looking at your registration rates. How many people are signing up to your webinar? If you're not getting many sign ups then it may be that your topic is not compelling enough in which case you may need to look at that. But you want to have a really good idea on what those registration rates are. The second one is attendance rates. Are people registering and are they attending? So how many people are actually showing up for your webinar? And then the third one is the conversion rate.

Karen Davies [00:22:21]:
You want to have a really good understanding on how many webinar attendees convert into paying customers. Now by paying close attention to those 3 metrics, you can then fine tune your webinar content, your email sequences, and of course your promotional strategies that you're gonna use to help boost results. Your metrics are going to provide you with such valuable insights into how to improve and scale your automated webinar strategy. So it's really important that you pay really close attention to those metrics. Now scaling your business with automated webinars is a really powerful way to increase your reach, save time, and to, of course, generate passive income. And by creating valuable, engaging webinars and then automating that process, you can continue to grow your business without having to be constantly present.
