Now in today's episode I'm gonna be talking about how you can rekindle that spark for your business and that joy that you once felt. So if you are currently feeling a little bit overwhelmed or maybe you're feeling disconnected from your business then this is the episode for you. Because here's the thing.

Karen Davies [00:01:40]:

When you go in at something all of the time, you can lose that joy that you once used to have. And so we're gonna be looking at what makes us feel like that and how we can get it back. But before I dive into today's episode, I just wanna tell you about the ultimate marketing bundle which I've recently put together. Now I'm a creator. I create lots of digital products with a purpose of helping other creative and heart centered entrepreneurs to build a business that works for them. Now whatever stage you're in in your business, you're going to need to dive into the world of marketing. We can't run our businesses without getting involved in marketing activities, it's just the nature of the beast, part and parcel of running a business. We have to let people know that we exist.

Karen Davies [00:02:40]:

The problem is that this can be really overwhelming. And if you don't have a handle on what your business is, where you're going, and what you're looking to achieve then it makes the job of marketing that little bit harder. So I've put together this bundle. It's the ultimate marketing bundle and it's been designed to help you get really clear about your business because it's the only way that you can actually scale and grow your business you need to know what your business is and why it exists. And so what I have created has been designed to help you get clear on that. Now within this bundle, I've got four really fabulous indispensable resources that's going to help you to turn your vision into a successful business, it's gonna bring your vision to life. Now the ultimate marketing bundle includes four transformative tools, as I said, to help you really crystallize your business and what you're going to achieve. It includes the ultimate brand strategy planner, which is your road map to success.

Karen Davies [00:03:54]:

This is a workbook that will bring clarity to your business vision, and it will help you to take the steps that you're going to need to take to bring the vision that you have to life. So it's one thing defining that vision, but it's another thing actually taking the right type of action to make it happen. And this is where the ultimate brand strategy planner comes into play. In this bundle as well, I'm also including the dream client canvas template. Now I use this with all of my clients because this is gonna help you to get really clear on exactly who your ideal client is so that you can serve them in the best possible way. Now this is such a valuable tool and it's been designed as a 1 pager to help you fill it out, then print it off so you always have it to hand. Because when you know exactly who your ideal client is, you can create the right content that's gonna resonate with them. And this is what that this tool has been designed to help with.

Karen Davies [00:04:59]:

I'm also including a 1 page business marketing plan. And this is what's going to underpin your brand strategy. Now this is gonna help you strategize and crystallize the optimum way in which you can reach your ideal client. And it's gonna help you to focus on activities that's going to actually make a difference in your business. Now it's not just about taking any type of action. Tim plan has been designed to do. And then finally, we've got the brilliant branding checklist, which is a really comprehensive branding checklist that's been designed to ensure that your brand not only looks right the feels right as well. It's going to ensure that every aspect of your brand aligns with your vision and resonates with your ideal client.

Karen Davies [00:06:04]:

Now these are simple but really effective tools, like I say, had been bundled together, and I'm selling them all for like £27. It's ridiculous. But I wanna get this out there so I can really help my ideal clients, I e, you guys, where it matters the most. So if you are interested in grabbing this offer, then I want you to go to www.pink-lemondigital.com/marketingbundle.com

Go and grab it. I'm gonna keep it up for the next week or so, but go and grab it because this is going to be what you need to have to really bring your business to life. So if you are starting out or maybe you just need a little bit of clarity or maybe you're just stuck then this bundle is going to help you. So go and grab it and I promise you it will transform your business.

Karen Davies [00:07:05]:

Okay. So let's dive into today's episode. Now before we talk about strategies on how to fall back in love with your business, let's just talk about why we become disconnected. Why does that happen? It is actually really common for this to happen. Entrepreneurs are going to experience bouts of disillusion because it's running a business is relentless. It's like nonstop. The constant pressure, the constant stress, and, of course, the monotony of daily tasks it's going to affect anybody's enthusiasm. When you're doing it day in, day out and if you're feeling stuck and you're not getting the results then it's going to have an effect on how you then feel about your business.

Karen Davies [00:07:54]:

Earlier this year, my family and I, we went to Florida for our family holiday. And looking back, it took me ages to recover. I was tired. I was mentally fatigued Anne, I was burnt out because the past few years have been relentless. I pivoted my business. I made big changes and there was a lot of work involved. Also, I think being a mom of 2 young children, there is a constant pull on my time. And so between the pressures of work and, of course, running a business and everything else that goes on in life, it's it it leads to, you know, exhaustion and feeling tired and just mentally drained.

Karen Davies [00:08:38]:

My children are a really funny age because they're not little. They're not babies, but they're not yet teenagers. So they wanna grow, they wanna have that independence and that freedom, but they're not old enough to have it. So there's a lot of juggle there as well. And it all kind of feeds into the way you feel and the energy you have and, of course, how you then approach things. I think being a mom is one of the hardest jobs going, but, of course, it's one of the most rewarding things to do as well. And what I've noticed is as my girls are getting older, they're now 9 and 11, they need us more but it's in different ways. It isn't just about now helping them practically, but they need more emotional support as well because they've got more going on in their world.

Karen Davies [00:09:27]:

But the problem is is when you're on the hook for your business, you're a solopreneur, and everything rests on your shoulders, it can feel a lot when you're trying to juggle life, life, family, everything, and a business. Now one of the decisions that I made back in COVID that I was going to build my business to support me. And that's what I've been working on for the past few years. I moved into the online space. I shifted my business, and I focus my energies on developing my business to support my vision and also to support me as well. And I spend a lot of my time in my business focusing my energy on putting things into place that's going to support the vision that I have. I don't want to be chained to my desk. I want to be available to my children.

Karen Davies [00:10:19]:

I want to be able to sit down at at the end of the school day and have a conversation with them and not feel like I've got people waiting on me doing work or taking my time because that's where I need to be. I need to be at my desk working. And so all the decisions that I make have to feed into the things that are important to me. If I'm going to dedicate my time and my energy to creating a business, it has to work for me and my family. It has to fuel my passion. I can't be chained to my desk working endlessly for clients. And most importantly, it has to fill me with joy. Because I want to feel excited about the work that I do.

Karen Davies [00:11:03]:

I want to get up in the morning and I want to feel inspired and I want to feel motivated and I want to make a positive impact to other people as well, it also needs to give me the financial independence that I need, and this is a nonnegotiable, and so this year I have really tried to lean into that space and make the shift needed to bring all of that to fruition. And sometimes I love my business. It's the best thing since sliced bread. But then other times, because of what it requires from me to get it to where I need it to be, I do fall out of love with it. Sometimes it feels like a real labor of love. I know that this is what I'm supposed to be doing, but it really presses in on my time, my energy, and sometimes it requires me to really focus in on certain things, not leaving me time and energy for the other things I wanna be doing. So there's a constant pull on trying to create that balance that we need to be able to create the thing that's gonna support us but also give us the freedom to be able to do the things that are important to us as well. So building a business by design, which is what we're doing, takes time.

Karen Davies [00:12:23]:

But what if whilst you're doing it, you fall out of love with the thing that you're creating? How do you then mitigate that. This might happen for several reasons and I'm just gonna cover what I think is probably the 4 main reasons why you might become disconnected. The first is that you just lose all passion for the thing that you're doing. If you're working on something day in day out then you may get to a point where you just, like I say, lose all interest. You may just lose connection I just feel really despondent for what you're working towards and that might just be because you're at it all of the time. The second reason could be that maybe you're feeling burnt out. I know earlier in the year when I came back from Florida, looking back absolutely I was burnt out. I've been working really hard.

Karen Davies [00:13:21]:

We had lots going on personally. We were trying to sell a flat and that sold and then it all fell through and I was just juggling a lot alongside my business. It's just it was just crazy time. So absolutely feeling burnt out because business creating a business can be demanding and it can be stressful. And if you're working all the hours and you don't have that healthy work life balance, of course, you're gonna it's gonna lead to burnout. The third thing is that you might just have a shift in priorities. It might be that your personal circumstances change. It might be the fact that you are not interested they're in the thing that you've been focusing on.

Karen Davies [00:14:07]:

And sometimes it could just be that you no longer align with the goals that you once have set for yourself. And then the 4th thing, it could be that you're just feeling really bored and unstimulated. It might be that you are delivering the same services that you've been delivering for years, and it just feels very repetitive. And so that lack of innovation or change has resulted in you losing interest Aura Enthusiasm. Now all of these are perfectly common and I think it's really important to remember that if you are currently in a place where you have or now a log with your business, then it's just a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey. But I think recognizing how you're feeling and then addressing is really important because the last thing you wanna do is walk away and give up on the thing that you've been really working hard on. How can you put that spark back into your business? Now for this, I think I believe that it's such a personal and unique journey for everyone. What is going to light me up is may not light you up.

Karen Davies [00:15:22]:

So everybody has a different take on what is important to them. But I wanna give you 5 tips that I think will really help to reignite that spark in your business. So my first tip is about reconnecting to your why. I know the why is banded around a lot. You know? We must know our why. We must know why we're doing this and all of that. But it is really important because we need to really understand why we created our business in the 1st place. We need to take the time to reconnect to it and to just go to that place of where we were at the beginning when we started to have that passion and motivation for starting the business in the 1st place.

Karen Davies [00:16:10]:

I think it's really important to remind yourself of your goals, your purpose, your values, and the positive impact that you wanted to make when you first started your business. Now if you are struggling to define what that why looks like then go and grab my marketing bundle because the ultimate brand strategy planner has been created to help you with this. It has been designed to help you get really clear on exactly what your why is, what your purpose is and where you're going. So go and grab it. Now my 2nd tip is about getting inspired. When we're working on something day in and day out it is really easy to fall into a rump. So we need to look for narration where possible. Now this can come in all different sources.

Karen Davies [00:17:03]:

It can be a really good book. It can be an article. It could be a podcast episode or it could be an event. So go and have a look at what is happening in your industry that's going to spark that interest. Now for me, I love learning. I love to learn about the things that go on in my space. So a few years ago, I invested in a program, and the resources and training that I get as part of this program is incredible. It's not just about business.

Karen Davies [00:17:40]:

It's about mindset and spirituality and all the things that make up a really successful entrepreneur. When I take the training and I actually really immerse myself in the things that I'm interested in. It in it's incredible. It's so inspiring and motivating. And if I am feeling disconnected, it's a surefire way of getting me back on track. So what can you go and get or go and find that's really going to help you? Do not be afraid to invest in stuff. If you need an accountability group to key keep you on track, invest in an accountability group. If you need to be a part of a masterminding group, then go and find a masterminding group.

Karen Davies [00:18:29]:

Go and find whatever you need that's going to support you and give you what you need to keep you on track. So next week, I'm flying out to LA. I'm going to a 3 day event in Orange County. I'm incredibly excited. It's part of this program, it's the in person event. We're gonna have oh, there's gonna be so much amazing stuff going on, and I know this is going to be transformational. Yes. It's costing me a lot of money to go, but it's an investment.

Karen Davies [00:19:02]:

And it's worth the investment because I know that it's going to really shift me not just in my business but in my personal development as well, sometimes we need to really invest in the things that it's going to support us. So as I said, don't be afraid to put money into something that's going to really help you to move forward because you're never gonna look back and regret that investment, but you might regret not investing in yourself in the 1st place. So if you are feeling uninspired, unmotivated, overwhelmed, have a look at what's going on in your industry that you can invest in to keep you on track. So my 3rd tip is about getting help on board. So as entrepreneurs sometimes we can live under the illusion that we can do everything ourselves I'm not nobody will do it as good as us and we don't need anybody helping us. And we don't wanna pay the money because we don't have the money so therefore we might just do it ourselves anyway. So there's a whole host of things there that stop us from actually getting the help that we need on board. The problem is when you're trying to do everything yourself, this is gonna lead to burnout because there's just way too much stuff to do to be able to manage it all.

Karen Davies [00:20:32]:

Now by getting help aboard, it's going to allow you to be able to focus on the things that you actually enjoy doing. Now if you've lost a spark in your business, it could be as simple as you are spending way too much time doing the stuff that really doesn't light you up. So you need to work out what you enjoy doing so that you can delegate the stuff that you have no desire to do. I hate bookkeeping. I don't like the finance stuff at all. I like to know my numbers, but I couldn't think of anything worse than sitting there having to upload all of my receipts into 0. So I'm not gonna do it because that's gonna really affect how I feel about my business if I'm caught up all of the time doing this. I'm gonna pay for a bookkeeper.

Karen Davies [00:21:19]:

So what do you need to help you so that you can be given time back to focus on the things that you actually enjoy doing. Take some time. Make a list of all the tasks that you're currently doing that you really don't enjoy or don't want to do and then figure out how you can get somebody on board to support you. You can go to fiverr.com and find people to support you in your business that doesn't break the bank. By getting rid of the stuff that you don't want to do and focusing your energy on the things that you enjoy, it's going to help you bring that spark back. And you're going to end up feeling not only just joyful about the business that you're you've created, you're just going to enjoy yourself all the more. And I believe that's what business is about. We shouldn't be doing anything that doesn't light us up.

Karen Davies [00:22:13]:

If that's the case, you might as well just go and get a job. So really think about what you can delegate, what you can offload. And just as I said focus on the things that you enjoy doing. Okay. So my 4th tip is about taking breaks. So we have to make sure that we take regular breaks. We need to practice self care, and we need to maintain a healthy work life balance. We need to relax and give ourselves time to rejuvenate and to to build our energy supplies back up because this is what's going to bring back our passion.

Karen Davies [00:22:49]:

Now I do things in the week that I take time out for and it really does help me, so I am trying to get better. I go for walks. My husband and I, we have certain days where I will go and we'll meet for lunch. And there's just the things that, you know, I've incorporated into my daily routine really. And I need it because it really does help to balance out my energies. But we have to make time to take breaks. We have to really focus in on putting ourselves first so that we can show up and be the best we can be for our businesses. And then my 5th and final tip is about exploring new ideas because if you are currently feeling bored or feeling unstimulated in your business, it may be because that you've not created anything new to get excited about.

Karen Davies [00:23:45]:

So we're nearing the end of 2023. There's a whole year ahead of us next year, and it's the perfect time to be thinking about what new products could be developed. Now I work with a lot of course creators and product creators. And the thing about creating a product focused business is that you get to create offers that really do help your audience. So if you are a service provider and you are looking to move your business online or to create digital offers in your business because maybe next year you are looking to scale or maybe you just wanna bring some time back in your business so you can start making money in other areas. Consider what you can offer in your business that can bring in some additional revenue. So maybe think about creating a small digital offer that you can then sell. If you haven't listened to it already, then go and listen to episode with 62 because I talk about how small digital offers can actually transform your business and they don't have to take loads of time to create.

Karen Davies [00:24:57]:

You can create something in a really simple and quick way that is ultimately going to bring in new life into your business essentially because you're going to be building a brand new revenue stream. And that is innovative. And that is going to build Simon, because you're going to be exploring new avenues that will make you money but also bring joy and freshness back in your business as well. So if you can go and listen to episode 62 because I dive into that and I talk about how you can get started. So there you have it. My 5 tips to help you fall back in love with your business. Now just to recap, tip 1, go and reconnect to your why. Tip 2, go and get inspired.

Karen Davies [00:25:43]:

We need to be inspired. Three, go and get some help. You wanna offload the stuff that you don't wanna work on so that you're spending your energy on the things that bring you joy and that you enjoy doing. Tip 4, don't forget to take breaks and prioritize your self care because you are important. Your business can only operate if you are at your best. And my 5th and final tip is about exploring new ideas and developing new offers and products in your business because this is going to be bringing in a lot more joy, a lot more Simon, and it's going to help you to explore different areas that's equally gonna make you more money. Remember, if you are feeling disconnected, it's going to take time and energy to get your passion back, so you need to give yourself some grace. Be patient with yourself and just remember to celebrate your small victories that you're experiencing along the way.

Karen Davies [00:26:43]:

Always remember that building a business it's not about a destination. It is about the journey, and we need to feel joy in that journey, and we need to love what we do. So before I finish today's episode, I just want to remind you of my ultimate marketing bundle. As I mentioned earlier, it's got 4 transformative tools to not only help you reignite your passion for your business but to also help you get super clear on what your business is, the brand that you are creating and where it is going.
